‘And The Band Played On’, ‘Rubyfruit Jungle’ or the ‘Naked Civil Servant’. What books have inspired, motivated or thrilled you as someone who is LGBT that you want to share with others?
Silver Rainbows LGBT Network for older people is hosting a celebration of Queer writing at Frodsham Library on the evening of 18th April from 7:00pm – 9:00pm.
“It was a moment of revelation to me the first time I discovered characters whose lives and loves reflected my own experiences…” said Colin Avery from the Silver Rainbows Network. “This event is a chance for older LGBT people to come together for some fun and laughter as well as sharing the poetry or prose, adventures or romances that have been special to us and that might inspire others”.
Part of a programme run by Silver Rainbows – a network for older LGBT people in Cheshire who might be experiencing loneliness or isolation to get together and build up new friendships either face-to-face or online – The event is free and people are welcome to come along on the night or contact Silver Rainbows at: firstname.lastname@example.org or call Colin on 01270 653150 if help is needed with transport or access.
Silver Rainbows is a project hosted by Body Positive Cheshire & North Wales and funded by Brightlife.
