FIRST COMES LOVE. THEN COMES MARRIAGE. THEN COMES MURDER…
Our first guest speaker is Jane Corry. Her fabulous debut novel, My Husband’s Wife reached No 5 in the Sunday Times bestseller list. Jane’s career covers many aspects of writing from print journalism to teaching would-be authors. Oh, and life in a high security prison! One not to be missed by readers or writers.
11.30am – 11.45am break
11.45am to 12.15pm
WHY? All about eye and I. Because when we read, everything changes. Inclusion, influence, impact, intelligence, illness, imagination, insight, improvement, interest, innovation, incentive, information, identity, impression, independence…
Writer Jill Treseder PhD and avid reader Victoria Suter from the NHS South West Leadership Academy remind us of the work of The Reading Agency and its new initiative, Reading Well. Jill also talks about why she writes.
12.15pm – 12.45pm
News and questions from readers and writers plus the great book swap. Please bring books to give away and/or swap.
12.45pm – 2pm lunch in the Garden Restaurant
2pm – 3pm
The story behind the story – finding the writer’s voice and holding the reader’s attention. With nine books to her credit, novelist Kate Furnivall explains how she decides on the subject and the importance of research. She describes her genre as historical with touches of romance and mystery but with all the realism of the time. Her most recent books include The Italian Wife and The Liberation. Event followed by informal networking.
Cost for the day and a two course lunch £17.25
