Woolwich Library is one of the most visited libraries in London – On World Book Night we are looking to encourage reading for pleasure focusing on our library customers and visitors who never borrow a book. We want to tell them about reading for wellbeing and mindfulness. Between 12 noon and 2 pm the three library reading groups will be promoting the benefits of belonging to a reading group.
There will be free refreshments available.
In the evening from 5pm until 8pm we will be celebrating and focusing on ‘The Hate U Give’ by Angie Thomas with a discussion, film viewing and book gifting. This part of our event will be led by our YA reading group as well as library staff facilitators.
