The fifth in our annual series founded in 2013 on World Book Night to encourage a love of books and reading for all ages, with all events free to attend, echoing the generous spirit of World Book Night. The first Hawkesbury Upton Lit Fest was held on World Book Night itself (then a Thursday) but subsequently it’s held on the nearest Saturday to enable more people to attend. Free talks, discussions, workshops, readings and other events for all ages and interests, by around 70 authors who are giving their time and trouble for no charge. Events are staged at various venues around our friendly village on the Cotswold Way, so that the whole community feels involved, whether or not they are avid readers. Visitors welcome to come from far and wide – no prior booking needed, just turn up on the day!
