World Book Night is for everyone, whether you read regularly or less often, it is the perfect opportunity to celebrate books and the difference they make to your life. There are so many ways that you can get involved.

Use our activity toolkit for ideas on how you can celebrate

Small lincolnshire rape crisis permission given

1. Read a book on 23 April! Share what you’re reading on social media using #WorldBookNight to join the online celebration

2. Share books with someone else. This could be by holding a book-themed party, gifting a book to a friend or family member, or helping someone to join the local library

3. Hold a bookswap at work, with family or friends. Ask everyone to bring a copy of a book they love, or books they no longer want to keep. You might discover a new favourite read!

4. Support your local bookshop by buying a book there in April 2020. If you don’t have a local bookshop, you can buy a book from Hive and choose an independent bookshop anywhere in the country to support

These are just a few ideas, but take a look at our resources page for more.
